vertical float valve for rodi reservoir?

do they make one? I have a horizontal one that manually stops the water like pictured here but it won't fit in the lid of my container (to wide...picture above isnt mine...just an example of the valve i have) and I don't want to drill the container way down the side where it would fit. I'm wondering if there is a vertical option similar to this one? maybe something with a ball or cylinder valve similar to what's on bottom of most shop vac motors.

Tunze makes a nice one. The problem with the setup you have is it will eventually spilt and you will have a flood. Totes like that are not meant to support water weight. Water is a constant pressure.

Spectrapure makes one as well. Both of these will let your container get half full and then kick on and fill to the max height you set. It is better for your to unit. Having it kick on and off is bad for your membrane.

That's not my setup, I just used the picture to show the float valve I have.

The float valve I have is attached to the end of my rodi water line from my rodi filter. The filter has an auto shut off built in but won't turn off unless it senses that the float valve has closed. So basically it's an easy way to keep my reservoir full of rodi water. That reservoir isn't only for top off water...it's my rodi reservoir for mixing up saltwater.

For top off water I have a bucket that sits behind my tank with a tunze osmo unit in it. I manually fill it with jugs of water from my rodi reservoir.

There is a mini float valve sold on eBay size of a golf ball the will work just like the one pictured or vertical. It's like $10. Just search " mini float valve " on eBay or aquarium float valve. There was another post where a guy had it in a small sump for ATO. I bought a few similar of the cheap eBay ones and they work perfect for the price. I use one in my sump, RODI can & saltwater can. They work well in brute can lids vertically.

For a reservoir I highly recommend setting up a latching device with 2 float switches. Using a single float or float valve as shown will have the RO/DI filter turning on and off several times during the day and shorten the life of you RO membrane. A Latching type set of float switches will allow the level in the reservoir to drop to a lower switch, then turn on the water via a solenoid valve then and turn off when the level hits the upper switch.

it will cost a few bucks more to start but almost pay for itself the first time you have to replace the first RO membrane on your RO/DI filter.

Can you point me to where I can find a setup like this? I talked to BRS about a vert valve and he recommended an e-solenoid, too, but he said they don't stock them.
