Lol... found this guy using snails as "elevators" to climb up the glass. Very clever.

Looks like a species of xanthid crab which are pretty destructive. Toss it in the sump.

Thanks god I caught him then. I also have what I believe are 2 brown mithrax crab that came with the live rock and one of them just molted this morning. Here's the shell I took out, can you please confirm the ID? Should I take them out too? They seem pretty harmless and I see them around all the time, mostly picking at the rock.
I believe they are mithrax because they have hairy legs and small claws as opposed to this new, larger crab I found today. [IMG]http://i49.*******.com/jshan8.jpg[/IMG] |
