How much live sand do I need?

FOWLRLS, 46g bow front, using only a cansiter filter and will be getting a skimmer in the near future

Do you want a shallow or deep sand bed (you need to do some searching for threads regarding deep and shallow sand beds)? To determine how mach sand you will need use this formula:
Tank length x width x deisred sand bed thickness in inches divided by 20 will give you the poundage you need to achive that depth.

Thanks, I was looking for a formula so that works.... Also, I was thinking 2 inches, what do you think? I heard the more sand the harder it is to maintain
