What is this? Medusa worm? Algae? Dino?
I have some localized 'threads' appearing in the bottom of my tank.
They don't seem to be in the water column, but rather spreading across the sand (and on a frag). I thought it was a medusa/spaghetti worm at first, but after seeing it on the zoa frag I can see that it is not. I hope it's just some goofy type of algae, but I would expect it to proliferate differently if it was. The same goes for if it was dinoflagellates. I would expect them to be everywhere and on everything. Please see the video below and help me figure out what it is ...and how to treat it! Thanks, Tom |

How old is that tank? Looks like Diatoms. I know you say relatively new, so thats what I'm going with, your LR doesn't even have any color in it yet. Diatom Bloom

At this point it's about 3 months old.
Everything in it came from either dry (rock/sand), mix saltwater, or was dipped. I had Dinos before and it sucked. Thanks for the link Cloak. |

I'd go with some type of algae. Seems stringy, but doesn't really look like dino.
