Water temps?

Since Ive had my 28G JBJ nano its always ran 82-84 degrees with lights on and 79 @ night with lights off. Ive never had a problem. My 90 is running around 80 with no lights and 84 degrees with lights on. I have two heaters but havent even plugged them in yet. What water temps do you guys shoot for? My tank seems to be runnig a bit on the high side but so does my nano.

I try to stay at 78 but On hot days with the lights going it does reach 82 sometimes. Help with a fan blowing on the tank.

A small fan blowing across the top of the water will have a cooling effect. Nothing drastic but it should help drop the temp a couple of degrees.

It will also cause a rise in the evaporation rate. So keep an eye on that and make adjustments to your top off method if needed.

I have a $10 fan over my sump blowing when lights cut on and it keeps my tank 78-79. At one time I would keep my heater on 80 and it would get as high as 84-85 on hot days. I cut the temp back to 78 add the fan never gets above 79 now. I don evaporate more
