Planning a 60 cube

Hey everyone! Been out of the hobby for about 7 years and getting back into it! Last tank I had was a 29 gal cube, 150w MH with some LPS and softies. Was a really fun tank!

This time I'm wanting to setup a 60 cube. I'm in the very early planning stages and have three questions:

1) I'm really wanting to dive into the world of SPS this time around. for a 24x24x24 tank, what wattage MH light would I need? I have a 250W 14k pendant, would that be enough or should I step up to 400W?

2) LEDs! These weren't around last time I was in the hobby! For this tank would they be a good idea? If so what wattage?

3) I'm wanting to experiment with high quality uncured live rock to cycle the tank in hopes of preserving as much life on the rock as possible. Any suggestions on how to do this or if I'm doomed for failure?
