Clownfish behavior
I put two clowns in the same tank about a month ago. One was at least 3/4 of an inch bigger than the other. They never fought at all and after a week or so they began sleeping in the same area at night. I noticed the other day that the smaller one has been hanging in the corner of the tank but the larger one has been roaming around and ignoring him. I read that when pairing the smaller one can get dejected and hang out by himself but this is normal? Anyone have any experience with this?

how long has the smaller one hanging out in the corner? In my case this happened early in the stage but they got back together after couple of weeks and now they sleep and hang out together.

Mine do the same thing, only they rejoin each other after a while. The big one is the female and she leaves the male solo for a while.

Same here. Clowns are funny like that. (No pun intended)

well the bad thing is that he isn't eating. Looks totally fine, but wont eat. No signs of any distress. Parameters are all great. I'm getting nervous.

Have you tried to feed him a bit of food soaked in garlic? I use a drop or two every time I feed my clowns. I thaw a bit of mysids or chopped squid and use Kents Marine Garlic. Otherwise just be patient he will come around if all other parameters are good.

yup, I tried garlic extreme. Nothing. He took food in, but spit it back out. He was eating like a pig for 7 months, now all of a sudden this happens.

Any chance that he is guarding eggs? Have you looked over the rocks that he is hanging out by?
