mechanical wave maker?
The tank I just bought has a mechanical wave-maker box. I assume it is operated my some sort of spring loaded valve. Anyone ever seen one of them? What is the correct name for it?
Thanks |

They work well but may need to be modded. If it sticks don't throw it away, look into repairing it through modification. Also the ID of the tubing connections for both the outlet and inlet can and should be bored out to 5/8th of an inch to reduce back pressure and increase flow rates through the device.
Just keep in mind if it stops switching it has mostlikely had the internal bell seice up due to a crack. If it is the 1" version, there are less problems, most of the stuff I listed is for the 3/4" version, which just happens to also be the most used version of the switching device.
