AI Vega Color/Blue Owners Thread!
Don't actually have mine yet, but just got off the phone with ReefGeek and they told me mine are shipping today, and I should get them by early next week.
I'm sure folks will start getting them any day now, so I wanted to create this thread for all owners to share pics, comments, acclimation tips, etc. If you're still waiting on yours, use this time to take lots of "before" pics of your tank so we can properly document growth (or lack thereof) and color progression. I'll be doing the same! |

The only thing I nobody has really seen is a FTS (and coral growth but that's an unreasonable expectation). I really hope you guys give us some FTS here. I am HEAVILY considering these. I know someone that will sell me a used radion (6 mo) for $525 so I want to know ASAP how these Vegas are!

Hello qfrisco,
I'm going to purchase two of the Color units and controller as will for my 90 gallon. I was just curious which vega units the fellow reefers are going to purchase for their tanks. Thanks again, Randy |

I would think the blue would be nice and switch out some of the blues with UV

Cant wait to see who gets these first. My LFS says that his distributor is first to get them, but Reefgeek already has them. Make me wonder.

I thought real hard about the selection, and there's not very much info out there to help, which makes things more difficult. The only difference between the two lights is two less Royal Blues in the Color, replaced with a Green and a Deep Red. My assumption was that the Color would have slightly less PAR than the Blue, but ultimately I went with the ability to have the Red and Green for a more complete spectrum. We'll see how that plays out. I'll be moving from T5s and plan to leave two T5s in there for supplementation, in case I find there's something missing. Can't wait to try them out! |

Methinks I should have ordered from ReefGeek. I haven't gotten my tracking number from Premium Aquatics yet...

So with the pictures just posted, I don't see controls on the light other than the on/off switch. I had read somewhere that the lights are dimmable even without a controller. Anyone know how that works?

The controller uses 2.4 ghz RF so it should have a good range. That means my basement frag setup will work too.

We are all patiently awaiting your arrival of your new Vega's.
On a side note, I had to postpone my order for two weeks, since our computer went on the blink this morning, and I need to replace the computer first, which ate into my Vega fund. My wife does not like using our iPad, so I need to make a small compromise with my wife and keep her happy. I called the nice folks at Reefgreek, and pre-ordered the next round of Vega's which are two to three weeks out. At least I can drool over these postings and read about your Vega LED's for now. Have fun with your new Vega's. Randy |

Well good news my Vegas finally arrived... Bad news is I ordered 4 of them and one doesn't seem to be working. So I called Reefgeek and left a message.. I'll try and post a few pics. I don't have them over my tank as I didn't order the rails to mount them in my canopy and I thought a controller was included?
