Killing hydroids with heat?

Does it actually work?
I just found a jellyfish hydroid in my dwarf tank and was wondering if I could just move the 3 dwarfs to a qt and put a heater in the main tank to kill them off? The only place they could have came from is from the brine shrimp, I don't go through the pain of decapping. I know, I know your supposed to decapp them but I could never get it mastered, I've got enough little tanks laying around that I can quickly and easily move them into a new/clean tank before it becomes a problem. My original plan was to just put them in a new tank but I'm going out of town this weekend(the dwarfs are going with me) and I'm not going to be able to stick to the regular plan.

Being that I've never had hydroids I don't know the answer to your query.
However, you can still stop the hydroids from cysts by doing a sterilization with bleach before hatching.
Basically it means hydrating the cysts first and then putting bleach in (about 1 part in 10) for about 4 minutes, rinsing well in tap water and then proceeding to hatch as normal.
(Decap process but with less bleach and shorter duration)
