Show Me Your Spray Bars

I am setting up my first bare bottom tank. It is a 280 gallon 84x32x24". I have two holes drilled for closed loop returns in the rear corners that I am going to run off of either an iwaki 70rlt or a Dolphin Ampmaster 3000. My starboard is on the way. The only thing I am uncertain on is the design of the spray bars. I would love to see what other DIYers have developed. What do you like about your designs? Anything you would change looking back at it?

Exactly what I am looking for. Are you happy with performance? Anything you would have changed?

Ummm i don't think so. Since this is for a BTA tank i went with an oversized pump. I couldnt have any powerheads in case of a wandering nem. This provides consistent flow across the whole length of the aquarium. As you can see, it is designed to go over the edge of the aquarium.

I am going to be mine on a closed loop along the bottom of the tank. I was hoping more people would have pictures. I guess I will have to just play around until I come up with something that I like.
Thanks for your input, Staff SGT.

Gotcha! If this was a dt, or a closed loop application i would have definitely use at least sch 80 or locline for aesthetic reasons. Obviously, locline allows for easier add on. Pvc has the advantage of veing much cheaper. Good luck!

I will be using schedule 80 with 5 outlets including two eductors on each side. I am hoping to get enough flow along the bottom that detritus has nowhere to settle without the use of powerheads.

Will you be running both eductors off the same pump? One may be significantly more effective than the other...eductors and penductors definitely need some pressure behind it in order to maximize their efficiency. Not to say that an iwaki 70 couldn't handle it...just something to be aware of

I am definitely running the eductors on the iwaki. With over 30ft of head pressure, it can easily handle two (approx 7' head pressure each). The part i am undecided on is wether to run the eductors off of my return on sea swirls or as a part of the closed loop system. If i do run them on the closed loop, I will incorporate an ocean's motions 4-way in order to randomize the flow.
