T5 LEDs ????
I heard that there are going to be T5 LEDs bulbs coming out soon. Did anyone else heard about this? Or should I invest in a LED lighting system.

I would not hold out for that. There is no proper way to cool high power LEDs inside T5 housing. You might get some low powered ones eventually but nothing on the scale of Radion or AI. After all the metal box that holds the lights is the cheapest part of the fixture. So you would not be saving much anyhow.

Good info to know and so the next question would be. Should I look into a LED lighting system for my coral to keep their color rather than the t5 system.
Any suggesting on T5 lighting system or LED system for the best colors and cost efficient! |

Hi,
I have 6 Radions over my tank and was not quite happy. Not that much grow I´ve upgraded it with 4 T5 80Watt and now Í´m really happy with it. T5 and LED is the best choice for my taste. |

we have these currently at my work, as stated, they are low power LEDs, fit right into a T5 end cap and just need a different balast.

I'm current running 6 T5. 3 actinic 2 1000k and 1 sun. It's nice but I wanted it a little bite brighter.

I used to work at a store about ten years ago in the Sacramento area. They have had these led lights stuffed into a t5 bulb. At first it seemed great since they were really the first wave of less to come out for fish tanks, many years ago. They were an Asian made light, one of the workers had a connection with the light company and was traveling back and forth to get these lights from the company.but they were cheap and low wattage and their was a million less on the bulbs. You could feel the heat radiating from each end of the enclosed tubes. They really did not work. Their was not enough intensity in them and they claimed you could just plug them into the wall.

I have used the t8 linear LEDs they work great no more ballasts and at 5 yrs still putting out 90 percent of its lights can't beat them downfall is they haven't made actinic in that style so still supplementing with t5 actinic
