Royal-Exclusiv Vertex Alpha 170 Nog/Skim Photos?
I've been on the fence about pulling the trigger on a Alpha 170 for my 120 Bare Bottom.
Been doing a lot of reading and keep coming across how great the build quality is and how quite the pump is but not to much on its performance. I understand that the rest of the Alpha line are great but mixed reviews on the 170 not being balanced in regards to its neck size. I wanted to ask how it performs? And if anyone had any Nog/Collection cup photos of it pulling some nasty skim? Thanks! John |

Buy it. It's a heck of a good skimmer.

I agree, it's the best piece of equipment I own. Absolutely dead quiet, and very efficient on my 120. Would post some pics, but then I would have to get up out of bed, get the camera, go down to the basement, yada yada. Seriously though, it is ROCK solid!!

This is a great skimmer for 120g. I am running the same one. My friend once told me. Once I go Alpha, I won't go back and it's true.
Very quiet and crazy skimming. |

I have a 120 gallon tank and was interested in one of these skimmers I saw one at a LFS and WOW what a great looking skimmer my only hesitation was that Mojo did not rate them well, so these post are very helpful due too the fact most of you have 120 gallons tanks. Boy it would be nice to rent one for a week.

Mine is a 90 and it pulls major junk out. Not even a break in period. This skimmer is amazing and the only negative reviews were in the first generation but that problem was fixed years ago and they are truly amazing skimmers.
