Is this to much? (rock formation)
Trying to stay away from the "rock wall" syndrome. Is this to "Mcdonald'ish", or ok? I have to say, BRS wasn't kidding about the reefsaver rock, it's easy to manipulate. Also, being as this is a new tank and dry live rock, do I need to cure the rock first and then cycle the tank, or is it better to do both at the same time?
Thanks, Joe LOL!! then that's an absolute NO, way to much rock? Here's the pic. Re-Scaled.jpg Last edited by chicagojoe; 10/12/2012 at 02:19 PM. Reason: picture didn't post. Thx tapatalk |

Looks good. Wish the rock could stay that color.

It looks great. Very nice looking design and plenty of room behind the rocks for the fish to hide when they want to. The only time you have to worry about having too much rock is if there isn't enough room for the fish to swim around. If anything, I'd call your design minimalist.

Thanks for the help
Thanks Woodchuck12, reeferman1128, Outrigger Reef, & Zappo for the opinions. I was hoping it looked ok, after 5 hours and 27 different designs I'm kind of out of ideas.
To anyone still reading, another question to go with the curing of the rock question, I've been reading alot on the eggcrate issue. Should I cut the eggcrate from around the bottom of the base points to open up the sand to the glass bottom for burrowing critters? Eggcrate.jpg remove areas like that indicated by the red border? Also the crate under the arches as well. TIA again, Joe |

I can't comment on the egg crate but I think your rock might be too close to the glass .....I made the same mistake in my tank and there's a small section of glass I can't get a mag float to clean it , just a suggestion but its up to you
Love the aquascape though |
