Whats Your Photo Period?????

I have a 6x80 watt ATI T5 Fixture and I have it on a total of 9 hours. A half for the blues, then the rest on for 8 hrs then blues for another half. I think this might be too much???

I have an ATI T5 4 bulb fixture and I have it on for a total of 8 hours. My photo period is as follows:

LED moonlights 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Atinics 3:00pm - 11:00pm
Daylights 4:00pm - 10:00pm
LED moonlights 11:00pm - 1:00am

I like to turn my lights on later in the day so I can view my tank when I get home from school and work. Your photo period can start at any time though.

I have been reading some interesting threads and articles on shorter photo periods like down to 6 hrs on the daylights. Sounds like you guys are kinda doing it already. I am going to run mine for
Blues 4pm - 12am
Daylights 5pm - 11pm

I have also read that this improves color and growth. There is also some info on running no lights 1 day a week to kinda give the corals a little rest. There are many cloudy/rainy days on the reef.

Your photoperiod looks perfect IMO. Also, great choice on the ATI fixture!!

I run my 6 bulb ATI with the following photoperiod:

2:00-12:00AM 2 bulbs
3:30-10:30PM 6 bulbs

Mine is dimmable so I have it dim up for a half hour at the start of each of these cycles. If it wasn't being dimmed I would run all 6 bulbs for 6 hours max. Running your lights for too long will inhibit both color and growth. Your schedule looks good though!!
