how do i use a maxijet to mix salt and pump it to my tank?

hello,

i've been reading threads about salt mixing and seems like alot of people recommend using the maxijet to mix their salt and then connect a tube to pump water into the tank. i've had been doing it manually the whole time, using my hand to mix salt and then uses a cup to pour water into my tank. i'm looking to automate all that using a maxijet 600. so i got it but have no idea what im doing, i tried searching for guides or videos online but cannot find any.

i tried doing it myself and it just seems like one side sucks in water and the other side shoots it out, is that how it mixes? i also can't figure out where to connect the tubing. if someone can point me to a tutorial or if they can upload a quick video it will be much appreciated. thanks

Yes that is how it works. The nozzle spray the water out. Now all you need is plumbing or a hose that will connect to it to put the water back into the tank.

But make sure the water is mixed good of course. Usually for 24 hrs

my tubing is the really thin one and it does not fit the opening of the outlet.

Mixing - Just put the MJ into your mixing container and then slowly add the required about of salt (always check don't just assume it's the right level). Then let it sit like this for say 24hrs (heated). Next day recheck the SG and if it's correct you can attach a hose to the output side of the MJ. Keep in mind it's not a high head pump so you may have to move your water container higher to get it to pump the water into your tank.

Take the pump to home depot. Find something fit it.

Maxijet 600 may not be strong enough to pump water from your bucket to the tank. I used rio 600 rated 200gph with head loss of 5 feet, it was barely making it. I got the rio 1100 rated for 380gph and has adjustable output and it was perfect. I would look into that. I mix my salt with that pump and heater and in 4 hours it was fine and salinity checks out fine the next day.

1/2 inch ID tubing from Home Depot does the trick. It comes in a 10 foot roll or you can have it cut.
