it always good to have back up so u need 2 drains 1.5" and 2 returns 1".
but you can get away with 1 each. i had a tank once 4x2x2 with only 1 drain 1.5" and 1 return 1".

I'm assuming this is for an overflow or closed loop?

Personally, I would look into a BeanAnimal Silent and Safe Overflow. Combined with a coast-to-coast weir, it provides the best flow options and maximizes surface skimming. If you so desire, you can put the return lines through the back glass but I prefer to go over the top as keeping the outlets near the surface minimizes the amount of water that siphons from the tank with a power outage.

+1000..
I did all 1-1/2" drain plumbing but if I did it again I would drop down to 1" for the main siphon channel only though and keep everything else 1-1/2"
I just think the main siphon channel could be smaller to fill/start quicker.. Heck I've got the valve on that line (and only that line) and its like 75% closed.
But its DEAD SILENT..

Okay I have someone that is coming over to drill two 1inch and two 1.5inch

Where should the holes be drilled at?

Then I was thinking about buying a overflow box from BRS and putting it over the holes.

Do that sound about right ?

Do you mean holes for 1" and 1.5" bulkheads, or 1" and 1.5" holes? Just making sure you're aware there's a difference....

I know 1" schedule 40 bulkheads normally take a 45mm hole saw, that's a little bigger than 1.75". IIRC a sch 40 1.5" bulkhead requires a 60mm hole. Check your specific bulkheads.

Not to sound like an *** but IMHO it doesn't sound like you have this planned out very well. I would suggest you do a little more research before drilling your tank so you can be sure you're happy with it.

Yes I am

Okay I will make sure he drills them for the bulkhead sizes.

So two of the holes go behind the overflow box or all of them?

How far apart should the holes be from the top and sides?
