No, this is not sufficient to replace RO/DI water. Sorry.

How big is your tank? Some of the portable RO/DI units are pretty reasonable, so I'll recommend something affordable if you let me know how much water you'll use in a week.

You can use for drinking water by Teeing off before the DI stage. Not healthy to drink DI filtered water

Here's the unit I use for my 60 gallon tank.

http://www.airwaterice.com/product/1...-DI-Added.html

It's completely portable and will produce far more water than you could use in a ten gallon tank. Do you have a LFS nearby that sells RO/DI water? You only need a few gallons a week.

my petco or petsmart doesnt sell ro/di water. petco sells real ocean water but its kinda expensive. i went to walmart last night and bought some distilled water (very cheap) bc ive read that it produces 0 tds like ro/di. so will distilled water work for corals? and also to keep brown algae away?

There's a theory that distilled water can contain copper since it is occasionally made using copper pipe. I don't think it's an issue with modern day distillation processes. So, if distilled is what you can afford and handle, give that a try. If your Walmart has a water dispenser, that would be an even better solution. The Walmart near me has a Culligan water dispenser and although it isn't DI, it is RO and I used it successfully for a couple of years. I own a TDS meter and regularly would check the water out of that machine. It was never above 5.

they do have a ro water dispenser but it says for employees only. so i didnt bother with it bc i also read online that in some walmarts, their machines have high tds. idk lol. if distilled isnt good, i can see if my cousin who works there can get some for me. if that doesnt work, then ill get a ro/di system. thanks for the help. u have really helped me a lot.
