What is it?

Just bought some rock to set up my tank and boy is it full of life
Any idea what this thing is?

Its living in a hole in the rock, it never leaves I have never seen it further out that to be even with the edge of the rock. It seems to prefer dark.

Any ideas... let me know and thanks a ton

Perhaps a tunicate? Can you take a picture of the whole rock? I don't really know what I'm looking at, sorry.

I agree, you definitely need a better picture. Can you get a zoomed out photo to see it on the rock?

Much better, thanks!

I still say tunicate or perhaps some kind of neat sponge. Touch it, what does it feel like? Does it react to shadows or the movement of your hand?

I'm stumped, does it expand at all? I assume it's not mobile? You mention above that it moves like a snail.

Doesn't really look like any keyhole limpet I've ever seen, but if thats what it is no, they're safe.

Maybe some kind of bivalve? Any chance you know where in the world your LR is from?
