RSM 130D chiller help. PLEASE HELP!

Ok , so I just got a new RSM 130D, amazing tank btw! I have installed the tunze, the media rack mod , several light mods, changed the fans in the hood which are now SUPER quiet, switched to eheim 300 pumps (also super quiet) and everything is great. So far though, the temp does spike to close to 81-82 degrees, nothing crazy, but I decided to get a chiller (JBJ arctic) and I got a pump for it as well. The question that I have is HOW THE HECK do I set this up. Where do I put the pump for the "IN" of the chiller, and where do I put the hose for the "out" of the chiller. Keeping in mind on the RSM everything is pretty compact and the heater is right there. ANY help would be great, I just need to know where to put these two parts of the chiller... the "IN" and "OUT" portions. I have googled and googled, havent found any specifics, please HELP! thanks in advance everyone!

My RSM130D came with a plate and mounted to that plate are 2 U shaped tubes with hose barbs. This plate snaps in next to the fan on the back side of the tank. Look in the box of stuff you got when you got your aquarium.

Yea I got that plate, my question though is do both the intake tube for the chiller with the pump and also the output for the chiller just both go straight down right there?

If you look the one that is longer or has a short hose (You can make it longer so the pump is closer to the bottom) attached that is your inlet attach a small powerhead to that one on the inside then from that exit point on the outside of the tank run a hose to your input of the chiller. Then run a hose from the chiller output to the other hose barb. To directly answer your question yes both the inlet and the outlet are close together.

OK great. Thank you. Just wanted to make sure. I got a eheim 300 for my pump, its themost quiet that I have had or tried. The only problem that I had, or that I am having is that the little plate that comes with it is too big for the ehiem 1/2 inch tubing. So I will have to figure that out. Any suggestions?

Take the plate with the tubes and the pump to your local hardware store or a place like Home Depot and ask someone in the plumbing department to adapt it for you using pvc fittings and hose..

good idea. I want it to fit perfectly. At this point I just will have to watch my temp, wait for my pump to come (the other was pretty loud down there, and I have my RSM 130D running really quiet right now!) and everything else should work out good. I will post a new thread with all my mods and pics soon. To help others.
