Question Before I Cycle
I have a 70 pounds of dry rock aquascaped and ready to go. Someone suggested adding a few pieces of liverock to seed the dry rock to speed up the cycle. My question is does the liverock HAVE to be added to the DT or can I put it in the sump? I really don't want to mess with my aquascape at this point.

u can put LR in sump. it will give a boost to ur tank by adding beneficial bacteria which in turn will multiply and grow on to the rest of the dry rock as well over time.

Just put the live rock somewhere in the DT where it won't disturb your layout when you take them out.
I would at least put it next to a rock in the corner or something like that |

I like Ciscokid's advice, place the live rock in your DT for a couple of weeks and then move it to your sump. That way worms and pods living in the live rock will be able to migrate into your sand and rock. After a few weeks you can then remove the unwanted live rock from your DT and use it in your sump/refugium.

+1 on putting it in the DT. You can always take it out later. Put it front of a powerhead and spread all of that goodness around the tank!

It doesn't have to be in the DT to seed the dry rock. You can just put it in your sump.

I know pods will migrate from the sump.
And I'm sure worms and other organisms will as well. I have a basement sump and have seen mini brittles, feather dusters and pods come up out of the return on occasion.

Thanks everyone!! I've got one big piece that I'll break up and spread around the DT. I'll then drop in a piece of raw shrimp and the fun begin.
