Question Please look at my overflow design

Hi all. I plan to set up a 75 gal mixed reef as a room divider (sort of). Because of this, I need to have the tank custom built with the overflow on a short side of the tank. I think I have done enough reading now to sketch something for the tank builder, but I'd like for a few of you more experienced reefers to take a look. This is designed for a Herbie overflow with a 1" main drain, 1" emergency drain and 3/4" return. Does this look okay?

Since this will be custom made why not do 2 island overflows in the center. You will get better surface skimming.

An island overflow crossed my mind, but I thought it might be difficult to arrange rockwork around. Do you know of any photos of something like this on the forum? I won't rule it out.

I have a Room divider set up and I have the return piped along the top of the tank to the opposite end that way it blows back to the overflow.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1354987969.073590.jpgif you look at the top of the tank you can see the PVC my plan is to have a "wall" from the ceiling to the top of the tank and cover the PVC. I ran one rerun up the back by the over flow and installed a t and ran two returns one for each side I the tank

Keep how it is, I would plum the return to the other side of the tank to get better flow.

You will get better return flow by using a 1" return over the 3/4" unless it's a basement sump.

How about my original overflow design? I just want to have it checked out before submitting it to the aquarium builder, mainly to make sure the layout and spacing between holes and sides looks okay. Unless I go with an island overflow (about to look for example of this), I'll probably just stick with this. I can't run any pipes outside of the aquarium and/or stand because my aquarium will literally be right in the middle of the room--that's why it's "sort-of" a room divider.

Although this won't work for me (see my other post) that's a very nice tank!

I thought, as a rule, the return should be a step down in size, to prevent flooding. I'm looking to achieve around 4x flow through the sump and will supplement with a power head as necessary (so I guess there will be a little equipment outside the tank).
