Beneficial bacteria - Fresh to salt?
I used to have this canister filter on my Iwagumi nature aquarium layout
but after months and months of going by my lfs to pick up misc. items. I can't help but notice their stunning coral area. So I decided to start my own reef about a month ago. Would the beneficial bacteria 'go away' (can't find the right wordings) from a freshwater to saltwater transition? In other words, would it still help jump start my bacteria colony? |

No, it won't transition. Although I did just read one article by a company trying to sell a chemical that said there's no difference & that it will transition fine, but at the end of the article it says the saltwater tank will still cycle after you do all the changeover
