Somebody on Craigslist SF is selling some that he calls jawbreakers. Looks similar to these. I think he wants like $300 for a little piece of one. Small little boogers with no color yet. They are awesome shrooms though..

If they reproduce like other mushrooms, we'll probably be seeing these at LFS's pretty soon, and probably at a lot less than $250. I want them, but I can wait a while, as I am doing with LED's. Patience is not just a virtue, its an economic necessity in this hobby!

If I had to bet, they do not reproduce like other mushrooms at all! I have a crazy bright neon green mushroom with an oddly similar texture. I have successfully taken cuttings, but in 5+ years, it has never divided on its own, in a tank where I have had to remove LR to prevent other mushrooms from taking over. It's a plus for me that they aren't prolific, but I suppose the down side is the price won't plummet quickly.

IF htey are shown as the actually appear, very cool. But as mentioned above - I'll just wait a few years and pick them up at a swap meet for about $15 ea.

those have been around a long time here.
they are called jawbreaker mushrooms here, too. (google them, there are lots of pics)
my mother has lots of red, and has a couple of green/blue spots. they are easily the brightest thing in my tank. from what i hear, they don't do well when you cut them. you have to let them grow babies natuarally. they sell for about $150 here , for a small one, like in the CList pic.
fwiw, i was selling babies like the Clist pic for $100 a few weeks ago. sold 5 in two days, (i only have about 5 babies left, and am not seeling now!)

Those morons need to learn the difference between 'lose' and 'loose' money. Maybe I'll email them and ask how one 'looses' money.

They're probably correct, though, in their theory that the images are artificially colored via Photoshop.

I loosen money by holding a bloke upside down and shaking him.
