Ecoexotic Panorama LED control
I recently purchased a 36" Model 9248 Ecoxotic Panorama LED and I will be controlling it with an Apex. http://www.ecoxotic.com/panorama-marine-led-system.html
The light has separate manual in line dimmers for each strip of LEDs (blue & white) but share a common power supply. Questions: 1. If I want to control the blue LED and white LED independently will I need an additional power supply? One for each strip of LEDs. 2. If I want the Apex to control the dimming will I be removing the manual inline dimmers? They can be unplugged on removed easily because they connected via DC barrel plugs. 3. Will the LEDs need to be wired directly to the ABU or will I be plugging them into energy bar with the standard AC plug? Thanks, Brian |

I'm tagging a long on this one. I have the 24" strip and was thinking the same as you. I am pretty sure an additional transformer is needed to control the white and blue individually. I looked on their site and it appears to be about $79. I'm really hoping the Apex can ramp up and ramp down the dimming of these bulbs.

Correction on the transformer cost... it lists at $36.95 (no dimmer) straight power. The dimmer module is $14.95. I don't believe the can be controlled from Apex as it appears to need a special controller cable. I was hoping it could just be done via power. Oh well.

I have also ordered Panorama Pro Modules to be controlled by Neptune system. Still waiting for it to arrive so I do not have the details yet, but I had to order special drivers for lights from Ecoxotic, in transit. I also had to order from Neptune DIMCAB2

I also had to order from Neptune DIMCAB2-2 Channel Dimming Cables and it will plug directly into my Apex Aqua Controller, at least that is what I have been told and I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I don't think these lights will work how we intend. I have posted this in a few forums and keep getting the same answer that these lights are just not compatible. Anyway, since you would still have to buy the Apex control module for $99 and the cable, I found an alternative solution. Ecoxotic sells their own controller for $129.00 shipped and it will do everything the Apex will do. I would love to run EVERYTHING through the Apex but for $129 I'm going this route.
