Salt creep?

What do you guys do with salt creep? Do you brush it back into the water to allow it to re-dissolve? Or wipe it clean and attempt to keep it out of the water?

I brush it back but generally its from bubbles in the sump so I try not to get them on the stand etc

Depends on where, Some places I knock it back in the tank. Others I use a warm rag to wipe it off.

A chunk of salt creep can burn a coral if it falls on it. I use a damp paper towel and wipe it, being careful not to let any large pieces drop in the tank. I get more creep in the sump and in that case, I just brush it back in the water.

Most of everybody says that the salt does not evaporate, only water does. That is why we top off with fresh RO/DI water. If only water evaporate then where does the salt creep all over the places around the tank is coming from????? I am pretty sure that white stuff is salty too :-)

Salt creep is caused by splashing, not evaporation. If saltwater splashes outside the tank, say on a brace or edge, the water does evaporate, but it leaves the dried salt behind.
