Best coral dip/ coral ID please
Hello everyone,
First, I will be transferring some corals and wanted to give them a dip before they come home. What is the best coral dip? Second, I have captured(and you guys ID..thank you) a couple of zoo eating nudi's in the tank were the corals are coming from. I have not seen any lately, but they are camouflage! Will the dip kill them? Third, I have a nice 4 inch long feather duster. Should he and his rock go in the dip(assuming not if the dip kills worms)? Fourth, Can you please ID the picture of this coral. Thank you. Paul |

No, don't dip the feather duster.
Definitely a goniopora, one of the most difficult corals to keep alive. Here's some articles for you about the care of gonioporas: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-10/nftt/index.php http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2005/10/aafeature2

Dips will kill worms, nudis, pods and all sorts of life. Only corals should be dipped and all corals should be dipped.

I use CoralRx for all mine and haven't had any issues. It was successful in killing off my Zoanthid eating nudibranch issue.

Awesome! Thank you guys. You rock! Now, if I just did'nt make a foot long scratch in the dead center of my display, I would be perfect. Dumbest thing ever...a magnetic "rock" particle was stuck to the felt side(outside) of my magnet cleaner. Watching my 7 month old while cleaning, and BAM! A huge scratch! This hobby is just unreal. I get rid of all my parasites and b.s., my corals and fish are doing great...now this.
