Flake food

I have been feeding flake and most fish eat it. Is there anyone here who does not feed flake? If so can you tell me why you don't?

I find it messy in the tank and am thinking of quitting it. Cheers

I stopped using flake food because my anthias wont touch it. I also noticed my sand bed gets outbreaks if I use flake food too often. I just feed hikari frozen mysis now and all 7 fish of mine love it.

Thanks. Just mysis? Do you think just frozen is suffice? Thought the fish need more. Interesting. Thanks

I try to feed as many different kinds of food as I can. I do still use flake food as my fish love it. But I mix up frozen food, freeze dried, gell, liquid food and vitamins all in a glass beer mug and feed with a turkey baster. That way everybody gets something they like. Just be carful not to over feed.

I also use an assortment of foods and alternate days. I use flake the least, and pellets the most. Much less waste with the pellets.

I always add just a pinch of flakes for my clowns. They just won't eat pellets.

I just use mysis on a daily basis, and about 1-2x a week I mix in 3 tiny spoonfuls of reef chili...fish are all doing great
