Housekeeping, probably, or he's having a snit. Watch it with pistols: they can turn around and kill their roommate if there an upset. But with a yasha, I wouldn't worry. They're tiny. He may have set a new burrow entry at the back of your rockwork. They can vanish for a month at a time, easy. I had a YWG disappear for six months...but then I DID have a redstripe goby turn up in the sump: might check it with a mirror and a flashlight, ditto the overflow box.

Gobies can jump. Do you have a screen top? If not check the floor behind/ around your tank.

I've had a gobie manage to jump out a hole the size of a nickel. (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh....php?t=2208538)
check the carpet well...
