Bought a used 210gal - safe to leave some encrusted algae on there?

I assume this is more of a cosmetic question but just to be safe is okay to leave some of the old encrusted algae on the tank (all over the over flows and don't want to mess with removing it)? It's just going to release calcium into the water as it dissolves right?

as long as you have cleaned the tank good, then you will have no problems leaving it there. it will not come off though and will not dissolve. but over time it will be covered up with new coraline algea.

How long has it been dry. If it's been dry for a while I'd scrape it off as chuncks will get loose and fall off over a few months. Use Vinegar and it comes right off.

Also it will not dissolve just look like big white flakes on your substrate.
