Feeding turbo snails

I did have a turbo snail in my tank for 4-5 weeks, but died. Probably out of starvation. There was a little alage in the tank, but not much. Right now the cleaner shrimp that was in qt is moving to my dt. And after I prepare the tank, I will get a fire shrimp and maybe 2 or 3 turbo snails. But the problem is, how do I feed them? I tried nori, and placed the snail directly on top, but nothing happened. I also bought some alage food for bottom feeders, should I try that? I qt everything now because I really dont want anything to bring in ich if I move them directly into the DT, because I have a couple of fish in there.

rubber banding and small piece of algae sheet to a piece of live rock rubble works well.

I would suggest only getting as many snails as your tank can naturally support. That's a lot of trouble to go to to have a couple extra snails.

the qt 20 gallons, so is 3 snails too much? My 80 gallon only has one turbo snail and a fighting conch and I do need at least 2 or 3 more

Sinking pellets. But not to much. You really should not have to find them though. Age of tank and amount of stock really matter here.

It really depends as was stated. I think 2 astreas and 1 turbo would be a good start. As an aside, you may have lost that snails for reasons other than starvation. But people tend to overstock snails. You can always add more.

You can always add more as you go. Yes, starvation will happen if not balanced.
