Is this silicone in tank safe??
Is this brown silicone safe?? It seems to be intact but wanted to get other suggestions. I just bought this tank and brought it home and started to clean it up. The tank had water in it when I picked it and seemed to be holding water. What do y'all think??ImageUploadedByTapatalk1361066142.902675.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1361066171.380734.jpg

My 120 looks like that. The silicone has just aged and maybe degraded a little. My tank holds water just great, if yours is doing the same dont worry about it

That's good to hear. When I finish cleaning the tank, I'll probably fill it up and check it again.

I would be concerned if the person sold you that tank had ever used it as a quarantine tank. He may have used copper in the tank to treat sick fish or something and that can seep into the silicone. Unless the tank is over 5-7 years old I don't see how silicone can turn that color unless he is just really bad at taking care of the tank.
