Best return pump to pair with an Eshopps PF-1200 overflow

I will be running a PF-1200 overflow manufacture suggested 1000gph flow rate. I will have about 63 inches of head loss and want a pump that doesn't use a ton of power

water blaster HY2000 $100+

or cheaper option-Tunze 1073.020-around $90

the tunze has an intake adjustment on the front so you can adjust the flow.

The water blaster would need a inline ball or gate valve off the pump to adjust flow

tunze is at around 30 watts and the WB is a little less (mid 20s)

good luck with your choices

you will need a pump capable of 1500 gph at 0 ft of head and install a ball valve after the pump to fine tune the flow

Sicce and Waterblaster would be my 2 choices for that amount of flow

wouldn't flow be determined by the rate of the overflow inlet?

Hate to say this but no way no how that box can handle 1000gph, I have one installed on my frag tank with a mag 5 and it can barely keep up with it full open I have to throttle it back

I know they state that but I'm just letting you know it can't come close to handling that, I'd think about buying a bigger model if you want to use a bigger return pump
