1 Ecotech Radion Pro over 30x30x24?

I am thinking of upgrading to a 30x30x24 rimless tank, and debating spending the big bucks on the radion pro fixture. After much debating, I think I've convinced myself that 1 fixture will do the job, but would love to hear from others, especially if you're using these lights, as to whether it'll be enough.

I'm also interested in alternatives, because the high price is certainly a turn-off, so comparison options are of interest too.

some of it will depend on your rockwork with only one fixture shadowing could be a problem. I do not use these LEDs. I put a Maxspect series P over my 92 cube and it would not work at all as the only light on that tank. Since it is a seahorse tank I am supplementing with a couple of Kessils to help grow macro algae I plan to put in there and that will help a lot.

I am waiting on a Rapid LED Onyx that I will probably use instead of the Maxspect for that tank. That fixture is not controllable. But their new one will be and it comes out in about 8 weeks for around $350.00 I will get a picture for you when the Onyx comes in and you can see what ya think. it's the same fixture basically as the controllable one that is coming out.

An Orphek Atlantik would could the same and definitely give you the coverage. I don't own one but am seriously considering that fixture for a future build.

Avoid them like the plague! Garbage company that has been caught lying multiple times.

I put two Radions in my RSM250 hood. It is about eight inches longer than your tank.

That's disappointing to hear. What difficulties have people had with their products?

I wish I had links with me but in short they are a misleading company. They don't have any special LEDs like they claim and their marketing is full of "stretched truths".

They use cheap Chinese LEDs that aren't anything great and throw on super tight optics to get better PAR numbers. Then they promote how efficient and awesome they are because of their "specially" designed LEDs.

gcarroll has a lot of the proof on it all. Maybe try messaging him.

They also came on here and were shilling like crazy to begin with. They all pretended to be hobbyists but in reality were the company. I lose all respect when companies stoop that low.

Ecotech told me that one is okay for a 30x30 tank if you keep high light stuff in the center.

I don't want to hear what ecotech told you. Do you have real life results? I am debating if these lights are worth my purchase.

The Pro is relativity new but I have seen it inaction on several tanks. Even at 30 inches it has more par than a MH.
