Recommendations for lighting a 70G Cube-mixed reef
I have been researching this topic for what seems like an eternity, and have reached a point of total confusion and frustration when it comes to deciding on adequate lighting to support a mixed reef in my 70G Cube tank. All help and advice is welcomed.
The Issue: I have a 70G cube (30x30x18) currently lit with a Ecoxotic 24" Panoroma (1st generation, not Pro) fixture that is stand-mounted, not suspended. My softies and anenomes (which have moved themselves to the towards the top of the rock) are doing wonderfully, but lps/sps don't seem to want to grow... My water parameters are fine and stable (alk 9dKH, Ca 420ppm, Mg 1350, ph 8.2 and temp at 79oF). I am looking for either a total replacement for my Ecoxotic fixture OR supplementary lighting that will help with the sps/lps and give me decent coverage over the front 1/3rd of the tank. Would prefer to stick with LEDs... Dimmable/Controllable would be good too. I have looked at Radions (but is one or two needed?), AI, Maxispect, ATI Powermodule, Acans. So confusing....and how many fixtures would be needed for the (odd) dimensions (30x30) of my tank for adequate spread. Depth is not an issue at 18". Thanks in advance. |

Thanks for the responses the Radion Pro where I was leaning anyway...you all have confirmed it. Will now need to figure out how to hang one from the Panorama stand mount....but I'm sure I will come up with a DIY fix.
One more question : are the Radions MAC friendly yet? I know they weren't when they first hit the market . |
