Setting up 75g fish only tank
Hey all,
I am setting up my 75 gallon fish only with live rock tank soon and wanted to get an opinion as to how much sand to add as my previous was a 72 gallon reef tank and had a 3-4 inch sand bed. I was thinking of adding 60lbs of Nature's Ocean Marine White Sand from Petco and seeding it with 90lbs of Fiji Live rock from LiveAquaria.com. I am not sure how much to go because this is very fine sand and I dont want to compact it too much since I wont have any nassarius snals, gobies or sand sifter starfish to help aerate the sand. I don't want to have a build up of Sulfur Dioxide that will kill my fish. Thanks as always! |

A 1" sandbed would be fine IMO. Real easy to keep clean.
