Talking LED television as a light?

Possibly--probably a dumb question..
Has anyone ever got a par reading from an LED television? I doubt that it's bright enough, but I could imagine spending $300. for each 32" and creating light effects through video edit. The cloud/storm options could be amazing.

I was thinking about a projector unit initially but I know the bulbs burn up pretty quick.

Lol, this is a pretty funny idea. I would say you would get a par of zero. I am watching a an led TV right now and have a par meter downstairs but don't feel like getting off of the couch now to test it

Do you know what would happen with the electronics and all the humidity? The tv would fry and you're just asking for a serious problem.

I don't think you need a PAR meter to test this. Get a timer and see how long you can look directly at your TV. Reset the timer and see how long you can look directly at a Radion.

lol. My thoughts exactly. I'm pretty sure they designed it with your precious eyesight in mind so I'd expect PAR to be pretty much zilch.

I gave up on the timer while looking at my TV, it had been 16 hours and I was getting sleepy. So this morning I tried the samething with one of my 99 bulb 3w led fixtures and after about 2 minutes everything went black and I haven't been able to see a thing for the last couple of hours! So my question is, if I turn up the brightness knob on the TV will that increase the PAR value or will it just make me smarter (as in brighter)?
