Combo Stand & Computer Desk

Has anyone tried this? I'd like to construct a stand that also doubles as a desk. My aquarium is a 72 x 24 x 30 with the overflow on the end. I would like to make the entire length 8 foot with the computer on the far right side with a cabinet behind hiding the overflow plumbing. The stand top would be 36 inches deep to accommodate someone sitting. The sump could either be under the desk hidden by a removable panel or behind the wall in an existing closet leaving a wide open space under the aquarium for a more dramatic look. I would build the stand that the aquarium sits on to the specs posted here by RocketEngineer. If anyone has built something similar, I'd love to see some pictures. Thanks!

i would build it out of all plywood, you will get a much better, cabinet grade looking piece of furniture, over a fairly bulky looking one built with 2x4's...kinda hard to picture it exactly though without a pic...

Old picture but my biocube sits right next to my computers.

I use it to prototype the stuff I'm building for my bigger tank. So far no mishaps.

My job is very.... demanding. The tank actually gets a little neglect when I'm really busy, which is sort of sad. I really use it to keep my current critters alive and get ready for the 'big one' which is a 180 which will be built into the wall above the desk where the little tank is right now. That will make it VERY hard to get work done, with six foot of ocean right there above my desk!
