Qt question
Hi all, if I use my dt water when doing a water change for my qt tank, does it still need to cycle? Tank is 8 months old.

I think it's as/more important that you have some type of filter media that has established bacteria on it. I plan on keeping a mesh bag full of the Fluval filter media in my sump and just placing it in QT with tank water when the QT is necessary. Or, as many people recommend, just keep the QT running at all times.
