PE mysis ??
Is it really better ? I've recently started using this and I'm not really sure it's better than hikari I do know the size of the actual shrimp is considerably bigger. Anyone out there have any real good reviews or comparisons for this feed I also have the cyclops it came in a two pack. Any help is appreciated.

They are about even in my book.
Hikari is smaller, most smaller fish readily accept it. It has good nutritional value. It does have a decent amount of water in it, so when it thaws you end up with a slightly smaller looking mass. It is much cheaper than PE. PE. They tend to be larger, and thus smaller fish may be less likely to eat it (this kind of depends on the fish to a degree... sometimes they are downright determined to eat stuff that is too big for them while some other fish same in size won't bother) unless you break the thawed shrimps into smaller pieces. It has excellent nutritional value (best of the mysis shrimps). There is little water content... what you thaw is as big or bigger than the piece you started off with. It's double the price of Hikari. Personally, I feed both. I basically feed 5 foods at random... PE mysis, Hikari mysis, Hikari Spirulina Brine, Rods Herbivore, and Rods Fish Only. Mysis is always one portion of the meal, 1 or sometimes 2 of the others are added. I only use flat packs, but used to use the hikari cubes. Hikari cubes are too expensive, you're much better off with flat packs. Just a footnote... If you are looking at both of these, on these forums, and are trying to do a comparison just stop yourself right there and give yourself a pat on the back. You're doing it right.

I got the PE last time and will stay with it. Look at the nutrient content on the package. There's a big difference if I remember correctly.

PE Mysis and black jack reef crack are the only two frozen foods I feed my fish. I can put other shrimp in my tank and my fish won't touch it, they know the difference. I don't know how much moisture is in the bag of Hikari but the content is based off total weight. So it may say Hikari Mysis is only 10% min protein but in reality it's more once you take away the weight of the moisture. Still even at that it simply doesn't compare ro PE Mysis.
