Which one of your fish has the most personality?
Blennies and gobies tend to have pretty good "personality".
My pink spot goby is fun to watch... but he's kinda grumpy. ![]() Out of my larger fish, there's something about my blue throat trigger that makes him seem to have that little extra sumfin-sumfin compared to the other fish. Almost like a big goofy dog. ![]() What fish do you have (or want to get) that have the most personality? ![]() ![]()

My big personality fish would have been my lawnmower, but then my kole tank decided that he was a threat to his food and one day I no longer saw him anymore. I think my female ocillarus is the winner now. She is non stop checking things out around the tank. She will swim around all the other fish and hang with them for a bit befor someone else gets her attention and then she will pal around with them.

Those are some amazing photos! I absolutely love the one of your blue throat trigger!
Mine would be my melanarus wrasse. He's always doing circles around the tank, especially at feeding time. My favorite part though is when I catch him going to sleep. He's sleeps right under where my clown pair sleeps. So the clowns, every night, will keep "nudgeing" him out of the way showing him that it is their territory and not his. Next thing you know the melanarus comes back in the picture and dive bombs in the sand right beneath the clowns... Pretty funny. lol. Sorry, I don't have any pics, especially not as good as your =).

My favorite has to be my green Mandarin, Munch. He defies everything you read about them. He beats feet to the same spot every morning to eat Nutramar Ova from a tube feeder. He snatches enriched brine shrimp out of the water column every evening. He sleeps in the same spot every night. Mandarins don't taste good, so nothing seems to scare them. My clown tries to chase him away from her side of the tank, but he's oblivious.

Hoeven's wrasse for me, he now has a yellow tang, hippo tang and flame angel in his motorcycle gang. It's amazing how these other fish follow him around and even try to mimic his behavior. He rules the tank and has no problem letting you know when he is hungry and ready to eat. He simply comes to the front glass and starts to flick his tail section really violently thus stirring up the sand bed. He has also broken off some polyps from my LPS and SPS doing this. When he gets in that mood, I simply move away from the tank and ignore his temper tantrums.

Mine would be my spotted mandarin which sadly has passed away due to unknown causes. He would follow me around the tank and when feeding time came he would go to his feeding spot and wait patiently for food which he would then slurp up like spaghetti.

My PBT is always hungry and gets really mad if it does not get feed, if any other fish touches a rock or glass, it will go berserk if I clean the glass.

Definitely my ember blenny. He's a fat little ahole, but I love him! He refuses to eat anything but grazing blocks, so I have to throw one in every couple days/week. When he's out of food he gets angry and throws tantrums....and by "throws" I mean literally. Snails/rocks/coral frags, I've seen him attack and carry them to "better" locations. I once found a giant turbo snail in the middle of a torch coral that was situated dead center in the tank.
His names Alfred and he's a funny little man. |

In my old 125 I would have to say it was my tailspot blenny, for my current little tank (40 gallon) I would definitely say it is my single clown. He plays like a dog all day in the duncan coral - doesn't pay any attention to the wrasses.

My spotted jawfish for sure. Jawfish are a lot of fun to watch. Very curious and always building their dens. Mine lives under a large group of star polyps.

My six-line wrasse is just like a terrier - without the yippy bark. Comes to greet/challenge anyone who gets near the tank, always fun watching him peek into every nook and cranny for food, constantly flashing whenever anyone else gets near....
Side story - we thought we lost him for three months. Searched everywhere, looked around and under furniture next to the tank, etc. given their tendency to jump, finally gave up after a couple of weeks. A couple months later I'm doing something in the sump and suddenly there he is staring up at me. Very fat, very happy. Can't say the same for the pod population in the refugium, which he'd meticulously wiped out... |

My fish with the most personality would be the naso tang. He "works" for food He will come up to the front glass to check you out, then start doing water acrobatics. After a few summersaults and fast runs, he'll come up to the glass, look at you and see if that was enough. If I don't give food, he does it all over again! LOL!
![]() The bluethroat trigger in the predator tank likes to show off and follow you around as you move across the tank, but the naso tang beats him personality wise. ![]()
