Diamond Watchman Goby

ughhh! i dunno whats the prob, but i got this goby about a month ago and I knew he was gonna sift sand, but dammmmn!! Some of my Zoas arent opening. When I come with a turkey baster and pump water to them there is tons of dust all over them. So it's stressing them out! Alot of my zoas. =(

I have good water flow through out the entire tank so I dunno why they arent opening, all my other corals are open and happy except for the Zoas.

I kinda want to take out the goby but how the hell am i gonna catch him? He's like a bullet.

Any suggestions?

Had it and I did regret buying it afterwards.
I didn't gave to catch it, I think my anemone ate it lol

You can try the home made soda bottle fish trap. I never had any success with it.

Otherwise the best method that I use, which does require some work, is to drain the tank, the fish will go to the deepest water level and retrieval/removal is easy. I've done it 3 times so far to catch smart fish. Picked up two big garbage pales from Home Depot to hold all the water.

I have one and love it. Once he settled in he stopped covering up my corals. Now he only covers things up of I move something. my sand is spotless. I won't have another tank without one.

It's not so much the sand. Its the dust it lifts up after. All that covers my reef like a coat. It's annoying. I'm gonna YouTube the coke bottle trap. Someone at work told me the same thing.

Anyone have a trap I can borrow? LoL ill give it back once I'm done.

I could see where that could be a problem depending on the type of sand you use.

I tried the coke bottle cap trap for a fish.. I ended up getting 4 crabs and a shrimp in it instead. It might work with a goby.

I watched a few YouTube videos on making a trap. Ok I'm gonna attempt to catch him on the weekend. LoL

Tank terrorists is what I call them, I just bought another though because I've never seen sand look so good as when they are In a tank

I caught him!!!!!! lol dude it took me not even 10 mins. lol I fed them w/ Mysis then I put some Mysis in the trap and he swam in there like if it was all good! haha
