Aquascaping Comments
Set-up my first SW tank Finally! Only been a few years now Haahaa.
Had my standard 75 Gallon Pre-Drilled tank up and going for a little more than 2 months now. Got all my rock and sand in and was curious about how I did aquascaping! Any imput would be great! Thanks IMG_20130620_145928_591.jpg IMG_20130620_145947_005.jpg |

Looks awesome. I am assuming there are more crevices and caves than the picture gives off? The mid-right looks a bit crowded but I am guessing thats the picture since the side angle gives it a better open look (good ol 2d vs 3d effect).
If so you should have some happy fish condos and multiple stations for cleaner shrimp (if you so choose). Some may suggest a 'less is more approach' but if you like it thats all that matters. Just make sure you have flow going through the entire piece to minimize buildup and dead spots and enough open spots for fish, inverts, and corals (for lighting and flow) so you can utilize the space it as much as possible!

It really comes down to your preference. For me, I like arches, caves or two seperate island with lots of room for corals.

Yeah theres tons of little spots all over the tank. At least 75% of the rock is very porous. I tried to keep as many rocks of the sand as possible since I read a lot on RC about possible detrius traps.
I probably will be getting some more powerheads to help w/ the flow throughout all the rock! |

There's about 90lbs of rock in there... 30lbs base rock and the rest was live rock.

Looks really nice. I haven't finished my rockscape but you gave me some ideas! Nice job!

Thanks... It always seems that everytime someone I know sets up a tank and does the rock work they hate it... However when they ask others for comments on how it looks, most will say it looks great. I guess those who do the aquascape are never quite satisfied....

I like that. I made a massive cave in mine and the fish all use it as a doorway to the back of the rocks. In the middle of the cave entrance on the sand, I am growing a hammer and I have two branching hammers hanging on the top of the cave entrance. Just an idea.
