Lighting for FOWLR 240 gallon
Hey guys. I am looking to purchase a 72 inch light fixture with four 80 watt bulbs (2 actinic and 2 10k daylight). Would this be enough light for this tank? It is also 72 by 30 by 25. Thanks!

I don't think there are any specific lighting requirements for a FOWLR tank. Now if you are looking to add corals eventually then you may need more but I think what you have would be fine for fish.

That should be fine...I had a 125g 6ft fish only and got away with a 10 dollar shop light and two 4 ft aquarium bulbs...

If I get 15k you think that would make it a bluer color? Also looking at
perhaps going with no daylight t5 bulbs and just colored. Thoughts? |

I wouldn't do that if you are going to keep corals. Corals will need a broad spectrum of colors and blue is only a small portion of what they need.

Clearly lighting is less important on a FOWLR tank than a full blown reef tank - but the LR does need at least reasonable light. I think a basic fluorescent or LED fixture would suffice.
