is calcium reactor needed for 10g tank

i have a 10g tank soon to be a reef tank. My lfs sid i need a calcium reactor or some other way to control ph. Is a calcium reactor needed? thx :3

deff. not needed. on a small tank like that weekly 10-20% water changes with a good reef salt should be all you need.

++++++! But if you want to dose then use a balanced One Part like from Salifert and dose in by drops daily totaling about 2 ml per week.

Water changes should take care of all your needs on a tank of that size.

Calcium reactors are generally for large setups with a ton of SPS

+1 on what others have said. Stick with 2 part or Kalk if your water changes don't keep up with the levels..the only reason I have a CR and I'm not using 2 part is I'd blow through a gallon a week.

Current Tank Info: Current system is 8x2x2 240g peninsula setup with a single "chamber" 100g sump in the basement with an RDSB. All corals are 100% home grown from frags of fellow reefers (low natural reef impact).

your LFS wanted you to spend your money. I would seriously question any advice they give you, as it seems likely they just want to make a sell.
