kessill a350 mods.

Has anyone tried to mod their kessil a350 so it can be controlled with the apex (or other controller ). The new a360 can be controlled via the 0-10v variable ports, so I'm wondering if can even be done on a 350. I dont know how many times I've opened a piece if equipment to find that model x is identical to model xx with the only difference being an IC chip. I'm sure there is some differences between the 350&360 but if they are both dimmed using 0-10v then it would be a matter of finding where that 0-10v is located. My background is in electronics engineering so I could probably figure it out, but I'm just not ready to take my 350apart right yet. wondering if anyone has?. I will be upgrading (lol I just bought the 350 maybe 4months ago)to either the 360s or maybe I'll try the radions and when I do that 350 is getting autopsied.

I had a buddy try an aftermarket china mod, although probably not wired correctly it zapped it. I wouldn't try it based on what I've read and his experience. Good luck

was it a knock off of the kessil, or just a generic led unit. either way i wont be trying it any time soon. something in the back of my brain tells me the a350 doesnt even use a 0-10v signal to dim. for some reason i think it uses either a 0-24v or 0-36v signal for dimming. i dont know why, maybe i read it on a forum, or maybe i saw it on the kessil website. so until i can get a little more info on the specs, and have upgraded to something else i wont be opening it. i at least have to wait for the warranty to be up.

FYI the kessil a350 are super easy to take apart, kinda a pain to put back together but not too bad. Remove the 2 screws under the rubber circle tabs on the bottom then pop out the 2 pressure tabs on the top or the pendant. lens, chip, heatsink , and fan just pull right out.
