Another dumb question
I know I'm impatient but... I'm changing water in my small tank can I dump old water from small tank into my new tank and speed up the cycle? Ok let the beating begin lol.

Water doesn't contain much of the bacteria. You would be much better off moving some sand or rock.

(whispers i cycled my tank in ten days (long story why I needed to do this and I'm not a beginner so that's why I was hurrying...) using ammonia and smartstart bacteria. Go to this thread page two and three for the whole story. generally if you're not in a situation like I was, its best to go slow though.

Not a dump question at all. What you can do is clean the sides of the glass in the old tank before you pull some water out of it. Theoretically, the bacteria growing on the walls of the tank will be in the water column and you can pull the water then transfer it into the new tank to help seed the bacteria colony and speed up the cycle.
Best thing to do is monitor the nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia to ensure the tank has cycled. |

Add a bottle of Bio-spira and your tank will cycle in about a week-10 days.. It works very well. Its how I cycled my 225.
