Looking for inexpensive powerheads
I have a maxijet 1200, an aqueon 500, and a pair of Korilia 4s (110v not controlable) is there any inexpenive heads that will give decent flow, and be switchable with a RKL?

I have a Koralia Mag 8 and the only thing I will warn you on is SOME of the Koralias are OK for switching, some are not. The Mags I know are not. Certain Koralias have a different motor that starts up in a way to ensure the prop is going the right way...it will cause an early demise of the pump if you put it on a constant on/off switch, not to mention the start-up is noisy as hell. The EVOs (Evolution) pumps are the ones that are MADE for being switched, any other model you need to check.
Koralia did upgrade their magnet mounts in the last year or so (atleast on the Mags) and they are awesome...dead silent when running..but I have my Mag 8 on all the time. The Evos have some pretty nice vibration absorbent mounts on them too although I've only ever seen them dry. I also have some Aqueons and they are definitely a cheap pump but so far they are working great....but I've only had them 2 months. They are cheap because they don't have the magnets which are actually pretty expensive in the hobby (rare earth magnets). The suction cups are VERY strong but I don't know how well the material will hold up after a year of being submerged in salt water. But I needed cheap flow in a pinch and the Aqueons were on sale on TOP of the low price tag so I bought two. I either bought 1250s or 1650s...I actually forget and I'm not at home. I will admit though...I only bought the Aqueons because the EVOs were out of stock and I couldn't wait. When the Aqueons go, I will go back to the EVOs so I can throw them on my RKL. I haven't tried the Aqueons on the RKL yet...I'd have to buy a new PC4 and a LONG extension since the tank and sump are on different floors (the computer head is at the sump).

+1 Great pumps, lots of flow. I have one WP40 in my 75, and its more than enough flow for the tank. I know it hooks to some controllers, I'm not sure about the RKL. There is a large thread on here on them (http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2259644), and it talks about hooking them up to different controllers. It comes with a controller of its own out of the box though, and you may find you don't need to hook it to the RKL.

+1 WP40 rocks man. I had korilla's just replaced them a month ago. A lot of dead spots are gone. If you want an expensive solution then goto echotech marine vortex pumps..

Another vote for the WP40. Mine has rocked. I know you can hook them up to some of the controllers...or you can just set the mode on the controller that comes with it.

I think when he said inexpensive he meant more like Hydor price. Yes I know you get what you paid for but still....I have Hydor Evo's but not sure about switching with RKL.

I am kicking around the WP/25 and 40. My biggest problem with my korilia 4s is that they have way too much flow for my 55 gal. Substrate blowing everywhere (seaflor special grade) a very very ****ed off frogspawn, and fish that won't leave the rocks. I just can't see spending Tunze or Ecotec money for heads. I have no interest is SPS of most lps, I am happy with a frogspawn, and maybe a few zoa
