Well I've finally attained the elusive
Gymnothorax thyrsoideus AKA White-Eyed Moray Eel!
After a couple months of research, scouring every possible online resource for info and online stores who might have it for sale, and venturing around town to see if any LFS's could special order one (with no luck)...every online store said "we cant special order it, you'll just have to check our website every day to see if one's come in throughout the year" one popped up on Diver's Den last Friday and I snatched it up minutes after it showed up for sale. After proper acclimation procedures, my little White-Eye is settled into my quarantine tank. I have no lights on it so it can adjust from its journey across the country, but I'm thrilled to have gotten it. It will eventually go into a 55 gallon and share that home with a same-sized Snowflake Moray (both are about 10" currently). Just wanted to share my joy of my long-desired species for my tank! |

Eels are really cool and I love my snowflake and chainlink. I am trying to get rid of them and that is where the problem is for me. Nobody wants them in my area and I really don't want to ship them. I am hopefully moving soon and that is why I need to get rid of them. Starting fresh and already bought my 180 gallon with custom sump and lots of plumbing

How big are your eels? Why not transfer them to your new tank?

New tank is not set up yet, and the eels are around a foot in lenght. They get along great too...

Another pic I got earlier, he's finally feeling comfortable enough to explore the QT, and even seems to recognize my presence as he comes out of hiding to show off his gorgeous markings!
