Clown fish took a fall
I redid my rock work and some how my clownfish ended up on the floor, it's about a 4 1/2 foot fall. I put him back in and he looked dead. I held him in front of they powerhead hoping to revive him and he slowly made a comeback. One clown fish took a swipe at him but then left him alone. He was then swimming normally. He is now missing. He is usually swimming at the top in the current with another clown.
He might be hiding because he is weak. I hope he is alive, but I should prepare for the worst. I have a 55 gallon and did a 10 gallon water change. I really don't want to take the rocks out and mount a search mission. My plan is to do a 10 gallon water change a day for about a week, buy an ammonia removal pad, some crabs and snails (which I should get anyway). What are your opinions of my plan? The start of his come back. The tank is cloudy because I just finished redoing the rocks.

Glad to hear he is doing well. Clowns are very hardy fish!

I am pretty sure he died, but he might be hiding. I just can't find the body and don't want to take all the rocks out of my tank. I also don't want a spike in ammonia.
I wanted people's advice on my idea of getting a few new clean up crew memebers, an ammonia removing pad and a few water changes in order to prevent a spike in ammonia. |

Did he fall on carpet? I've had fish jump out and onto a hot lamp and be fine.. He looked okay in that video. Hope he's okay, but get those ammonia pads just in case!

How big is your tank? I have had a purple firefish disappear on me with no signs of it either. Agree would be a pain to remove rockwork to find it. Check outside our tank to make sure he is not outside. If you are certain he has died in tank, best thing to do would just do a 10-20% water change for a couple weeks and it should help with the ammonia rising. Nassarius snails are a good CUC as well.
